Hypnotherapy is the modern way to tackle obstacles that sit within the ‘programming of the mind’. The treatment is fast and effective and regularly reviewed in the media. The treatments offered are limited only by your desire to change.

It was great to see a positive look at some of the benefits of using natural treatments for physical problems – Hypnotherapy looks like a winner! The BBC show Hypnotherapy and some of its best successes.

Dr Kathy Sykes investigated Hypnotherapy for the BBC and her results were shown in a documentary last evening. The aim – to find out how effective it is as a treatment for a number of common problems and to discover if there is any basis for the belief that it can be very successful.

Initially Kathy BBC wondered what the ‘unconscious’ is or if it exists. She laughed at the notion of a Hypnosis CD helping women increase the size of their breasts and later said she could find no scientific research – there is research than found in 60 women, all experience an increase in bust size and only one did not go up a cup size – fairly significant I would say. The participants of this trial were taught self hypnosis and instructed to use it twice a day every day to encourage the breast tissue to stimulate and grow. It was discovered that a number of women had negative associations with larger breasts and unconsciously limited growth.

Settlement video documentaries are sophisticated video presentations produced specifically for pre-trial mediation and settlement. The sole purpose of these settlement documentary videos is to convince the opposing parties it is in their best interest to pay maximum compensation now rather than risk a jury trial later.

A well-crafted settlement video incorporates the key factors of a case and visually weaves them into a cohesive television-style documentary presentation. The effect is profound as it not only provides a humanizing portrait of the plaintiff; it individualizes the case and forces the opposing parties to take notice. In addition, the settlement documentary can be an effective tool used to present critical evidence and prove damages, thereby justifying the demand letter and increasing the value of the case. Professionally produced legal video documentaries are powerful forms of communication that have an impact on the viewer like no other medium can.

Learning how to make a documentary can be tons of fun and does not require a filmmaking degree. You simply need a burning desire to tell your story and a willingness to figure out each step of the process.

Here are 10 easy-to-follow steps for making a documentary

  1. Pinpoint a documentary idea — The key here to choose a topic you are truly passionate about.
  2. Create an outline — Map out the basic structure and topics that you want to include in your documentary. You also want to think about the storytelling style — News/PBS Frontline-type style? Half documentary/Half movie with reenactments? Talking heads? Personal point of view? Observational?
  3. Gather your audio visuals – Start gathering existing footage and other audio visuals on your topic – this can be old home movies, photos, audio recordings, national archives, music, etc. Then decide what new footage is needed to tell your story and start shooting. This can be interviews with experts, capturing an event such as a horse show or football game, shooting footage of one of your characters – for example if you are focusing on a famous artist in your community, you’ll want to get footage of that artist painting.

The World of a Lady Artist

A non profit group, the guide dogs school for the blind instructors said that they did not favor any student but as of recent they displayed the portrait of one of the graduates in the building. One lady from Denver, Colorado has been working with Jeannie the golden retriever that is in the portrait. A portrait of Jeannie was painted by an artist who lost her ability to see a few years back. For this artist, painting has always been something that calmed her down and it kept her spirits up when she lost her eyesight. Before she became blind, she would make living selling scenes of Indian life in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. You might be wondering if she still paints.

It is important that she has time to get her ideas straight before she paints. Using her noggin, literally, she thinks about all of the things that she translates onto the canvas. She started by using pins to serve as outlines but these would normally end up damaging the canvas on which she paints. Pins are no longer necessary when it comes to her painting.

I have been on television three times in the last month. I was clearly seen and was able to hang out with celebrities and stars on the set of major network television shows. I did this with absolutely no experience and no connections in the movie business. How did I do it? I am not any different than anyone else. I don’t possess jaw dropping looks and I have not been an actor or had any training. So how did I go from my little cubicle to the big screen?

Before I get into that, I have to tell you the back story. It will be short and painless I promise. My father’s employer went through a phase of lay offs recently and my dad was sent packing after 33 years at the same desk. He has been on countless interviews, but employers he talked to were just not hiring. He was sitting around the house not doing much, so I decided to try to find him something to do with all this time and possibly find a way for him to make some money. I can’t tell you why, but I went on Google and searched for extra movie work in Dallas, Texas. It was completely at random. I did find a list of production companies that were looking for extras to work on different television shows and feature films that were shooting in the Dallas area. I wrote down some contact numbers and e-mail addresses and called my dad to pitch the idea. He reluctantly agreed to call, but I told him that we could do it together so he wouldn’t be out there alone.

Sometimes, it’s easy to fall into the old habits of getting caught up in television bias, rather than checking out what’s happening over on other channels. Sure, those who are diehard fans of quirky HBO dramedy programming might know what they like on the home box office giant, but there are just as many great shows popping up on Showtime, or even on non-premium channels. Likewise, anyone who gets sucked into a black hole of only watching Fox, or Comedy Central, or any other channel is missing out on the myriad of shows that are actually out there.

2010 has had a slew of movies released just begging people to get out of their homes and into the theaters. From 3D animated adventures and comic book heroes to mind-bending suspense and another vampire movie, Hollywood was able to make a buck or two as well as shove 3D into our faces some more. Aside from a remake and one original movie, this year’s top 5 was dominated by sequels. Hopefully this is a trend that will stop next year.

Michele DeVito had worked for six years as a legal secretary before the career change that led her to the world of soap operas as the Assistant to the Executive Producer on the daytime drama, Another World. Looking back (after 24 years in daytime) she remembers, it wasn’t an easy transition.

Michele DeVito: I had no idea of the hours, because I worked 10 to 3 [at the law office]. But when I got here? Forget it. The hours in this were rough. And we ran into that Labor Day weekend — we had a party planned for the entire family. At my house! And they said I had to work Labor Day.

And I said, “What?” They said, “Oh yeah, we tape 52 weeks.” And I had to cancel the party. It was terrible.

It was a genre that I didn’t know. I didn’t even know what the control room was. When they would say, “Go down to the booth,” I didn’t know what they meant. [The control room is the technical hub from which the directors, producers and various crew members "run" the show. It's also referred to as "the booth."]
